in challenging times with ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, political
polarization, economic upheaval, and other global 21st century
challenges. Featuring speakers 2018 Nobel Prize Laureate Dr. Tasuku
Honjo, Deputy Director-General, at Kyoto University Institute for
Advanced Study and Director of the Center for Cancer Immunotherapy and
Immunobiology (CCII) at Kyoto University, and with Minister Kenichiro
Mukai, Head of Chancery, Embassy of Japan in Washington, DC and
Chairman of the DC area Kyodai-kai as they share stories about their
day-to-day work, accomplishments, and aspirations in pursuit of a more
harmonious future. This discussion will be moderated by Dr. Yoshiko
Akamatsu, Senior Principal Research Scientist in Silicon Valley at
AbbVie Inc, a pharmaceutical company, President of the Japan Bio
Community, and Kyoto University alumna.
